Welcome to my very first forum post, I've dedicated this space to all of my teacher friends. This week marks an entire YEAR that we have been in a pandemic! There has been a significant shift in the field of education, which will most likely permanently alter they way we deliver instruction to our kiddos. Some of us have been teaching virtually or hybrid, others have been in person with smaller class sizes. With all that has transpired, it is MOST important that we both prioritize and take care of ourselves.
How have you been prioritizing self-care during the pandemic? Feel to use this space below to respond to this question or share any related thoughts!

I’ve been prioritizing self-care by reducing my screen time. I‘ve been virtual since last February, so I try to be very intentional about disconnecting from technology after work. Exercising and spending more time outside has been helpful as well!
During this time I truly took a step back & made sure i took self care as a priority & I’m committed to keeping this going as we re-enter the classroom. I have unplugged from social media, & tapped more into my holistic side learning how to heal with herbs & reading Black literature. These things have helped me through the pandemic.
I really appreciate what you said about using herbs and healing! That’s especially important as we prep to go back into the building. Unplugging is also super important and helpful.
Self care has been at the top of the list during the pandemic. One of the ways I keep sane is by getting outside once a day. It’s essential to get fresh air and sunlight now that the line is blurred between work and home.
I have been prioritizing time for my hobbies/passions during the
pandemic. I love teaching - I also love creative writing and photography. Dedicating time to my creative interests has made me feel more like my authentic self and feel much less isolated.
